GN Club's Student / Youth Membership is designed to encourage young people to connect with the community, develop their skills, build friendships, volunteer, participate in meaningful activities and become part of a positive multicultural community.

Membership is available to eligible young people aged 10 to 30 years inclusive, including local and international students and other eligible young people lawfully residing in Australia.

GN Club is committed to encouraging young people to participate in community life without a financial barrier.

As a Student / Youth Member, you can:

  • Participate in GN Club Programs & Events – Join eligible community, cultural, educational, youth, sporting, recreational and social activities.

  • Youth Programs & Initiatives – Participate in programs designed to support young people's education, personal development, wellbeing, confidence and community participation.

  • Volunteering Opportunities – Gain practical experience by participating in eligible GN Club volunteering, charitable and community initiatives.

🌏 Open to Our Wider Youth Community

You do not need to have Greater Noakhali ancestry or family origin to become a Student / Youth Member.

Student / Youth Membership is intended to support inclusive participation and is open to eligible young people from the wider multicultural Australian community, subject to the GN Club Constitution and Management Committee approval.

✅ Who Can Apply?

To apply for Student / Youth Membership, you must:

  • Be aged 10 to 30 years inclusive;

  • Be an eligible local or international student, or other eligible young person;

  • Be lawfully residing in Australia;

  • Support the charitable objects and purposes of GN Club; and

  • Agree to comply with the GN Club Constitution, By-laws, policies and lawful resolutions.

No Greater Noakhali ancestral, family or cultural connection is required for this membership category.

🗳️ Non-Voting Membership

Student / Youth Membership is strictly Non-Voting, regardless of the member's age within the 10–30 year membership range.

A Student / Youth Member:

  • Does not have voting rights;

  • Cannot nominate or second a nomination;

  • Cannot vote in Management Committee elections;

  • Cannot stand for or hold elected office; and

  • May attend General Meetings as an observer, subject to the Chair's directions.

Being a Non-Voting Member does not prevent you from actively participating in eligible GN Club programs, volunteering opportunities, community initiatives and events.

🎓 Moving to a Voting Membership

When a Student / Youth Member becomes eligible for a Voting Membership category, they may separately apply for admission to that category in accordance with the GN Club Constitution.

Moving to a Voting Membership category is not automatic and remains subject to the applicable eligibility and approval requirements.

⏳ Application & Approval

Although Student / Youth Membership is free, membership is still subject to Management Committee approval.

Submitting an application does not automatically confirm membership.

Membership commences only after the application has been approved by the Management Committee and the applicant has been entered in the Register of Members.

A complete membership application will normally be determined within 90 days.

Terms and Conditions

Your personal information will be collected, used, stored and managed by Greater Noakhali Club of Australia Inc. (GN Club) for purposes including membership administration, youth and community programs, events, volunteering, communications, fundraising and other lawful activities of the Association. Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable Australian privacy requirements and GN Club’s Privacy Policy.

Student / Youth Membership

Student / Youth Membership is available to eligible persons aged 10 to 30 years inclusive, including local and international students and other eligible young people lawfully residing in Australia.

Student / Youth Membership is FREE and no annual membership fee is payable for this membership category.

There is no requirement to have ancestral, family or cultural origins from Greater Noakhali (Noakhali, Feni or Lakshmipur) to apply for Student / Youth Membership.

Membership Application & Approval

Student / Youth Membership is subject to the eligibility requirements of the GN Club Constitution and approval by the Management Committee.

Submitting an application does not automatically confirm membership.

Non-Voting Membership

Student / Youth Members may participate in eligible GN Club activities, programs, mentoring, volunteering, leadership development, sport, recreation, cultural activities and youth initiatives, subject to applicable program requirements and GN Club policies.

Young Members & Participation

GN Club is committed to providing a respectful, inclusive and safe environment for children and young people participating in its programs and activities.

Participation in particular programs, events or activities may be subject to age requirements, capacity, registration, parental or guardian consent where applicable, safety requirements and relevant GN Club policies.

Donations & Other Payments

Although Student / Youth Membership is free, members, parents, guardians and supporters may choose to make donations or other permitted payments to GN Club.

Donations and other payments received by GN Club are used to support and further the Association's charitable and community purposes, including youth programs, education, mentoring, community activities, cultural programs, events, volunteering initiatives, community support and reasonable operational costs.

Making a donation, sponsorship or other financial contribution does not provide voting rights, governance rights or any additional membership entitlement.

Online Payments

Where a donation or other permitted payment is made online, it may be securely processed through a third-party payment provider such as Stripe. By making an online payment, you also agree to any applicable terms, conditions and privacy requirements of the relevant payment provider.

Donations & Refunds

Unless otherwise required by law or subject to specific agreed conditions, donations are generally non-refundable.

GN Club must not represent a donation or contribution as tax-deductible, or issue a DGR receipt, unless GN Club or the relevant fund is validly endorsed or otherwise entitled to do so under applicable law.

Use of Funds

Where funds raised for a particular program, activity, event or community initiative exceed the amount reasonably required, or circumstances prevent the intended activity from proceeding, GN Club may apply the remaining funds towards other charitable and community programs, services or activities consistent with the objects of the Association, subject to applicable donor restrictions, funding conditions and legal requirements.

Member Responsibilities

Student / Youth Members are expected to:

  • Comply with the GN Club Constitution, By-laws, policies and lawful resolutions;

  • Treat other members, volunteers, participants and community members with respect;

  • Support GN Club's charitable and community purposes;

  • Participate responsibly and safely in GN Club activities; and

  • Protect the property, reputation and interests of the Association.

Acceptance

By submitting a Student / Youth Membership application, donation or other payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, the GN Club Constitution, Privacy Policy and other applicable GN Club policies.

Where the applicant is a minor, any required parent or guardian consent must be provided in accordance with GN Club's applicable policies and program requirements.

Where these Terms and Conditions are inconsistent with the GN Club Constitution or applicable law, the Constitution and applicable law will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
